Lynne Miyake, Principal of Miyake Interiors, Inc. began her interior design career at Intradesign, a firm that specialized in large scale residential and hotel projects in 1989. One of her first projects was working on a 47,000 sq. ft. residential project in Aspen, Colorado, as design assistant to a Senior Designer.
After completing her education and graduating from the UCLA Interior Design Program, Ms. Miyake worked in a high-end hospitality and residential design firm as Senior Associate Designer/Project Coordinator. Her responsibilities included initial interior design concepts, presentations to clients, project and in-house staff supervision and coordination, design drawings and specifications, among other things.
Ms. Miyake opened her own firm, Miyake Interiors, Inc. in 1999, to further pursue her passion in residential design, construction, and project coordination. Since the firm’s inception, the projects have ranged from new construction, renovations, and remodels, and interior decoration. Miyake Interiors, Inc. is able to provide a full scope of service from the initial design concept stage, space planning, design documents, drawings, and specifications, through developing, selecting, and purchasing of the furnishings.
To develop a design concept, Ms. Miyake assimilates what the architecture of the space is providing, works with and listens to the client for their input, and allows the project to develop naturally through images, sketches, and material selections that she develops and collects into a design direction. The design work is initially driven by the client’s own taste and preferences, which is then channeled through the overall design aesthetic, all fostered by Miyake Interiors, Inc.
“Our design philosophy and emphasis has always been on creating a beautiful, healing, and inviting environment by providing the inspiration, and clear project vision. With a strong dedication to that end, our hands-on approach and attention to detail reflects our commitment to quality, and design integrity, simply and honestly. On each and every project, we are an integral part of the team, working closely in conjunction with the client to assist in expressing their desires. Our ultimate goal is to create a smoother journey for everyone involved through the various phases of design, and to always sponsor and promote a project successfully.”
Ms. Miyake has been published in “Detroit Home”, and is a Professional Member of ASID, and CCIDC. She has also worked on interior design projects in Japan, New York, Michigan, Colorado, as well as multiple projects in California. Her pastimes include traveling, wine collecting, movies, and music.
